The Devil’s work truck, Justice and Wisdom…and the Townhouse

  • I was very distressed at the time of the following dream.
  • Now I recall the dream that gave me such relief upon recollection of it while I was hospitalized (I was thinking that I wasn’t saved, but this dream convinced me that the Lord had saved me and placed me in His family; there was even a celebration! He took me from, “the works” for salvation lie of the devil and delivered me, by His grace, for my faith that he is the God of hope, the one thing I didn’t forget when every other good spiritual memory was failing me).

The Devil’s work truck, Justice and Wisdom…and the Townhouse: (a dream of the night 12-30-06)…

  • In this dream I found myself riding in a red work truck on a road that was passing through  a dark forest with a murderously angry man with dark features driving.
  • He wanted to kill me but something was restraining him (I could feel the hate seething from him). 
  • Then the truck was stopped and wanting to placate him somehow I poured gasoline into the pickup truck’s gas tank, spilling some. (this gasoline I’m thinking may represent my giving any credence to the devil’s accusations).
  • He remained very angry. Then the truck’s engine failed again and the truck stopped, with the driver now seething with hate all the more.
  • So I got out of the truck and opened the hood, and I even climbed into the engine compartment where I got stuck trying to fix it. (Was I climbing into the devil’s engine of works based salvation?)
  • Fortunately in the dream, when I was trapped in the engine compartment, God found me (in the form of a sheriff…I now call Him Justice).
  • He was a tall older man, very kind, in a sheriff’s uniform. He was of the utmost in competence and strength. Reaching in He pulled me from my entanglement of the engine compartment. 
  • (the verse that immediately came to mind when I woke from that dream was: “If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us” 1John 1:9. 7-29-19 Mo. 11:20pm: today on The Narrow Path radio program* Steve Gregg explained that God is just to forgive us our sins” because Jesus has paid for our forgiveness with His life. Thank you Lord!)

  • I was then freed from the snare of “works based salvation” and delivered…by grace!

The dream cont…

  • So, being freed from the Devil’s work truck engine compartment, on the dark forest road, Justice then brought me to an opening in the woods. It was still night time…and before us was a building in the moonlight that very much resembled the Space Needle in Seattle. 
  • Next, I found myself inside that structure, a dwelling place, with Justice who began consulting with the resident, a wise woman (I call her Wisdom now).
  • She was over 50 years of age, I would say, by the long gray hair (and in my mind I can see her in her kitchen with herbs hanging about).
  • Justice was deferential towards her, consulting her as to where I was to go. And Wisdom said no to an idea that I had been considering (which Justice related to her) then an answer was given (that I couldn’t hear) which Justice accepted.
  • Then He took me from there to where I was to go.

  • Justice took me to a townhouse. He brought me up to the door on the left (the House’s right side) and knocked.
  • The door was answered by a jubilant mature woman with a drink in her hand, and I was let in.
  • Inside there was a family¹ celebrating² inside.There were beverages in their hands, and they were rejoicing.
  • Once inside I then went directly upstairs…to rest I suppose, or clean up.
