- Long ago and frustrated with life, and somewhat angry, I had been drawing lions roaring…
- Then weary of my frustration and desiring peace in 1982′, I drew this lion, thinking of him as more of a peaceful power rather than an angry avenger.
- Then in 2019′ after reading pg. 82 (Kindle version) of C. S. Lewis’s, The Horse and His Boy, where Aslan (a lion/Christ figure) tells the boy, Shasta (who thought himself “most unfortunate”) that he’d (Aslan) been with him all along through his troubles, helping him.
- Then with a flash of memory I remembered and rediscovered my lion, who had been on the other side of the wall of my cross…and found it signed in 82′ and then realized it had been with me all along…and being inspired I believed that Christ also had been with me all along, helping, as well!
- (And I didn’t even know of Aslan in 1982′).
- “There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” Deuteronomy 1:31
