The Foreman building a shear wall: 

  • A dream of the night (sometime between 20004′ and 06′).

Dream:

  • I saw the Foreman again, this time in my mother’s house. (It was a large house that I’ve never seen before).
  • He was building an interior shear wall: a wall clad with plywood (this construction provides greater strength for the building).
  • There were a few power outlets in the wall.
  • The wall was not yet finished but was well clad with the plywood.
  • He worked alone on the wall, with His hands.

6-6-19 8:40am: from an Open Doors email re the persecuted church…

“When China’s best-known pastor, Wang Ming-dao, was finally released from prison, he stated, “In these past twenty years, I have not had a copy of the Bible. Happily between the ages of twenty-one to twenty-four, I spent my time at home doing the housework and studying the Scriptures. I memorized many passages. These passages in my heart came out one by one and strengthened me. Had it not been for those words of God, then not only I, but many others, would also have been defeated.”

  • Strengthened like a shear wall.
  • A verse of the day email then led me to this passage…

  • For years I contemplated whether I dare think the Lord was at work on me. 
  • And whether it was in me that there were power outlets….(Holy Spirit dreams and visions?)
  • And what could the special connection be but the bond of the love of Christ? (Shear walls have specialized construction connectors).
  • Two arriving passages about being strengthened…(I am the shear wall being built).
  • Two arriving passages about strengthening others…(when I am strong strengthen others, soul).
  • And while studying on the foundation below I found…

After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.  1 PETER 5:10 NASB

  • The words of the apostles and prophets are foundationally oriented with Christ as Chief.

6-14-19 Sa. 7:34pm: from a 5-23-19 note of mine…

  • C.S. Lewis describes below the Lord’s work on us as comparable to the rebuilding of a house…it can be painful…

“I find I must borrow yet another parable from George MacDonald. Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on: you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently he starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of—throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were going to be made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.

The command Be ye perfect is not idealistic gas. Nor is it a command to do the impossible. He is going to make us into creatures that can obey that command.
