Dream: The Prison cell and the Warden
The prison cell and the Warden:
- a dream of the night (2006′ ?)
Some context: Due to longstanding chronic injuries and pain I cannot sit for long, or, stand still for long, as inflammation settles in when I do. Thus, I don’t drive or socialize much at all, but mostly remain in my apartment (cell).
The dream:
- So, I was seated on a couch in a prison cell. The prison cell door, and a wall of bars like a cage, was to the right of where I was seated (but I viewed the dream from the left), and the cell door was open. The couch was facing the wall to the left of the cell door.
- Against the wall that I was facing, and on top of a low shelf or cabinet, was a television set that was not on.
- To the left of the TV, and atop the same shelf, was a collection of Bible books. From left to right, the Bible and books came first, before the television. (I believe the order is important).
- I was sitting still and quiet, while a man, I believe he was the warden of the prison, moved behind me (behind the couch) while observing me…without speaking.
- Outside the wall of bars and in the prison hallways was a group of celebrants parading down an aisle towards the right of my cell, they were dancing and playing instruments of music. I remained seated and did not join in.
- After waking I realized that the layout of the cell was like the layout of my living room, and I began wondering who the warden was: was he a good guy, or, a bad guy? I figured that I was in the prison for my past sins.
- I believe it was years later that I realized that behind my couch (at home) is a Christian cross, and then I knew, that the Warden must have been Jesus, and I regretted not worshiping Him in the dream, what was I thinking¹…maybe it was my natural distrust of wardens that blinded me.
¹When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. John 20:14 NASB https://bible.com/bible/100/jhn.20.14.NASB
